Remember this cutie pie? She was about 3 months old when I first took her pictures. What a bright eyed, beautiful little thing!

Well…I got the privilege of photographing her again and this time there was yet another CUTIE PIE that I got to photograph, her little sister.  I think it’s so fun to see the differences in siblings. Big sister was so cute will all her smiles and little sister was quiet and reserved for me. In fact, she wanted nothing to do with pictures…she just ran and ran…and ran. Do you want to know the best thing about 1 year olds that run? They keep my legs in shape ha ha! No, while my legs were hurting after squatting down and chasing her, the best thing is that they can’t run forever and I was able to get some really cute shots in those MOMENTS where she stopped and then started to run again.

Pretty darn cute AND I got to do another little session with these girlies too! The day we had our first session down town Salt Lake, the weather was iffy to say the least. It ended up raining and we still had CAKE pictures to do…

So ya, we had a LOT of fun! These cuties were so fun!

Oh how I love being a Utah Photographer and have missed it while I was taking a break from photography. Each time I head out to a session, I get nervous. My husband likes to tell me that it’s good that I still get nervous, it means I care enough to want to do a great job for my clients, and I agree. If I have a full session, mini session, free or paid session, I just want to to the best I can so my clients have wonderful pictures for the rest of their lives!

I’ve got to say that kids are one of my faves to photograph. Little ones just have the sweetest little personalities and each one I photograph is so different. My goal is to have mom and dad see the pictures and say “you totally captured who they are….” I was so thrilled when mom told me this about her kiddos!

This sweet family was the winner of a Mini Session from the Utah County Women’s Expo and we had a lot of fun in our short little photo session. I really encourage anyone who has been on the fence about getting pictures done, to book a Mini Session. It’s the perfect amount of time to get some amazing pictures of your kids or family. I also really love my mini session spot…I mean, just look…how GREAT is this spot?!

This past month, I had the chance to photograph my beautiful niece for her Senior pictures. She was my first senior and I’ve got to say that I had so much fun, I think I’ll have to start photographing MORE seniors!

I am so excited to be announcing next month’s Mommy & Me sessions! With Mother’s Day being a big focus in May, it’s the perfect time to give/receive the gift of photographs!

Each mini session will take place in Highland, Utah and will not be limited to one day (like past mini sessions have been).

It’s so incredibly important as moms (women) that we put away our fears of “not looking good,” to step in front of the camera with your kid(s) so that they will have those memories for years to come.

If you’d like to book a session with me, please head to my contact page and send me a little message. If you’d like to follow me, you can find me on Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest.

Oh my GOODNESS, you guys, the Utah County Women’s Expo was such a fun time! This was my first BIG expo, so I was nervous. I wanted to make sure my booth was cute and inviting and I have to say that it surpassed the ideas I had in my mind…it turned out really great. It did, however,  take some time get into the groove of things. We started out by having the fun “photo booth” in the back, so not a lot of people were seeing it or stopping for their pictures. As soon as we moved it to the front, lots of you fun girls started stopping and striking a pose. A lot of girls won a fun goodie bag and two of those won a FREE session! We also got to know our booth neighbors and ended up having such a great time and meeting so many wonderful people. So ya, I think it was a success and I’m actually *thinking* about doing it again in September!

Thank you all for stopping by, for asking questions, for having fun entering to win some sessions and most of all for those of you who I will meet in the future.

Women's Expo

Oh how I love being a Salt Lake City Photographer! Why? Because I got to spend time at Memory Grove Park with this beautiful and fun couple.

I “met” her online when she was deployed to Afghanistan and he had been waiting a year to see her. We literally had to squeeze this session in RIGHT before he was leaving back to AZ (he lives there, she is joining him SOON) and just days after he drove from AZ to see her come home….needless to say, they were super cute and in love with each other. We had so much fun and it reminded me that you don’t need to be engaged to get pictures together as a couple! ANYTIME is a good time to celebrate you love with photographs, right?

If you’d like to book a session with me, please head to my contact page and send me a little message. If you’d like to follow me, you can find me on Facebook, Google+ and Pinterest.

I love being one of the many photographers in Utah! It seems like everyone you meet is a photographer or knows someone who is, but that’s what I find great about it. Each and every one of us has different and unique talents, so when someone chooses ME,  I know it is because they truly love my talent. This little one’s mommy told me she found me on a Yahoo search…crazy, I didn’t even know that Yahoo still existed ha ha! I’m glad she found me though, her sweet little bundle was perfect and just so precious. I truly don’t think it could have gone any better, he was an angel!

Have you noticed the clothes I am choosing have been getting lighter and lighter and I don’t mean in color (although this time I DID go lighter in color as well), I mean in fabrication!?! If you have been in Utah this past week, you’ll know why and you might even be out swimming at the pool, soaking in the sun ha ha. Okay, okay, so it’s not THAT warm yet, but man, it’s amazing out right now. I sat out on my porch yesterday, closed my eyes and dreamt of Spring and Summer…it’s SOO CLOSE!! Of course you don’t want to leave out the layers and texture, but it’s getting to be that time to lighten things up.

I just love how neutral colors can really pull everything together. I can picture “this family” in a beautiful field with wispy tall grass. I can see them laughing and having fun as a family. The girls are twirling and the boy is playing…in the dirt!!  I can just see it….can you?

If you are in Utah, you’ve had a nice little peek of some nice weather this past week! Who’s ready?!! I know I AM! I’m dreaming of those Spring and Summer days where I can get back outside and feel the warmth on my face. Awe, I can feel it now…

Today I’m sharing some fun color, while still keeping in mind that it IS Winter here in Utah…remember to bundle up with layers that help to take a photo to the next level.

So listen, I understand not everyone loves lots of color with multiple patterns…that might just be too busy for your taste. So I’m here to tell you how to MATCH, with out matching. 10 years ago, matching meant that everyone wore the same colored shirt in the same style. Pretty boring right? Photos need lots of layers and textures to take them to the next level, to give them dimension, so let me tell you what I did with this What to Wear Wednesday.

First I chose a main color pallet and that was gray. You can see there are different shades of gray and this is A-OK! Second, I brought in another neutral color, blue/jean colored and then just one color to give it pop and a warmth that only color can bring in. You will see that the texture comes in with scarves, hats, vests and texture on the clothes themselves. These small details will help so so much!

So there you have it…causal, cool….
