This is my Mother & Father in law and their son, Jake, who is actually living with my hubby and I right now. Jake just graduated high school and I’m happy to be apart of their family!

Mini session #4 was with another one of my best friends, my sister-in-law and her family! Love these guys!

This is my brother and sister in law, my sister in law being one of my very best friends! It had been awhile since there last family pictures, so I was excited they wanted to get in on the mini session action! We had a good time and apparently the kids thought the word “bush” was funny!

Okay here we are with part two of my fun mini sessions! This one was a breeze and probably one of my faves! This is Dave, my former brother in law who is now engaged to my cousin in law (don’t ask LOL). Their adorable families make up this one beautiful family! I’m so happy to have been able to get to know Sarah and her kids more and aren’t they cuties?!

Wayyyy cute! Good job Meliss!

So you know how we like to get that “one” family picture every year that shows how our family is growing so we can compare it to “last years” photo and update our walls with the new one?! Well, I like to anyways LOL and I thought I’d offer to do mini sessions for my close friends/family who wanted to get that “one” picture. So last week I did 7 mini sessions! This is part 1!! It was a lot of fun, but boy were my feet and neck hurting by the end of the night. Does that mean I’m getting old or just out of shape?! ;)

This is my good friend, Susan, and her cute little family!

It’s been a while hasn’t it? Last weekend I was able to spend two days shooting and I had forgotten how much I like it! Sunday, I met this cute family we had our session up Provo canyon were it’s gorgeous with color! We were a little nervous because the weather had been yucky, but it ended up working out just great and we had a fun time!

These are beautiful Melissa! That family is gorgeous and the color is beautiful!!!

Wow, so after a pretty long break from photography, I’m BACK! Last year in 2010, I decided to raise my prices because with kids at home, I didn’t have time to do so much work, so my thought was…I’d raise my prices up and only take the work I wanted to. Well…ha ha…that didn’t work! Not in Utah’s market! So with a lot of though, I lowered my prices and am now back taking sessions and can’t wait to get started again!

With that said, I am giving away a FREE SESSION, 16×20 wall print and a CD of your session! Head on over to my Facebook fan page, LIKE Melissa Davis Photography and then TAG yourself in THIS photo! Tagging yourself gets you ONE entry in the drawing to win! THEN you can earn as many more entries as you want by putting a little effort into it! SHARE Melissa Davis Photography with your friends and family. Have THEM like my page and leave a comment telling me that YOU sent them. Each new comment is ONE more entry! FUN HUH?!! When I reach 500 LIKES, I will draw a winner!

So now on to my first session back! My good friend just had a baby and I got to go take some pictures! She looks just like her older brother and is sweet as can be!

Yes, the Utah market appears to be very competative. You do beautiful work.

Trichelle is one of my oldest friends. We went to elementary school together, grew up good friends and have kept in touch since I moved away from her in 9th grade. I’ve taken pictures of her little girl many times, shot her wedding when her little guy was just…well…a little guy and was excited that I got to see her again and take pictures of her and her two kiddos. We had quite the interesting day! I showed up and of course her and her kids looked awesome! She’s always had such style that I just couldn’t pull off! She warned me that her 2 yr old was a little stinker, but what 2 yr old isn’t right? So we head off for pictures, he’s doing the “I don’t want to take pictures” thing by throwing fits. That’s normal. I, and I know this is bad, was just laughing because I’ve BEEN there with my own kids and I KNOW how frustrating it is when you get all ready for pictures and then your kids are little stinkers! Well, we keep trying and he keeps throwing fits and breaks out into this 30 minute, rolling on the ground, screaming and kicking tantrum (see below. T wanted to document the huge fit and the picture doesn’t do it justice ha ha). I’m feeling really bad for my sweet friend…she’s on the phone with her mom trying to figure out what to do, while I’m up taking pictures of her daughter. Well, her mom, who is the SWEETEST mom in the world volunteers to drive 40+ minutes to come help out! T, the kids and I head to lunch while we’re waiting for her mom to come and are happily surprised when both her mom AND dad come to help out! So…we head back to the place we are taking pictures and T’s dad is just the funnest thing alive. He’s gets T’s little guy to just roll with laughter by…you’ll never guess…having him throw a big rock at us (I got hit twice)! It was the funnest thing and I WISH I could have gotten a picture of T’s dad while he was doing it! Man he has the energy of a child (can you share that with me L??). So, in the end, we were able to get some cute pictures and “cute little fit throwing guy” had a fun time! Thanks for coming out Trichelle! I had a fun time and it’s always so good to see you, your kids and your mom and dad!

I love LOVE them. Yay to you and your awesomeness! And I owe you big time for dealing with all that BS from the stinker, I was ready to pull my hair out. Haha thanks though you really are the best :)

I’ve totally been there too! I love the tantrum photo too! Life just seems to be too perfect sometimes in photo sessions so why not document reality? These are so great!

Fall mini’s are back!

October 19, 2010

YAY, fall mini’s are back! I did these last year and it was a lot of fun! 30 minutes is enough time to get some great images for your holiday cards and you can view my holiday cards by clicking HERE.

I will be doing these two days like it says. One at Paul Reams Park in Provo on Nov 12th and then at Memory Grove in Salt Lake on the 13th! These mini sessions are for small families up to 6 people (extra for more people) or if you just want pictures of your kids, we can do that too!

SO here are the details…

The mini sessions last for 30 minutes and we will just jump right into taking pictures! I  will have an assistant with me during these sessions to help get the attention of smaller kids (lol, even big kids for that matter). The purpose of these mini sessions are to get some pictures of your family and kids for your holiday cards OR if you are just really wanting (needing) family pictures taken because it’s been YEARS since you’ve done it he he…

One thing that is VERY important, is that you show up on time. If you are late, that will cut into your session time.

You will get 5 – 10 images displayed in an online gallery where you can choose your favorite 5 for your image disc and this year I’m offering 40% off any extra prints you order! You also get a very cute and very hot item this year…a 3×3 mini accordion album! They are SO SO cute!!

I have four openings on each day. $150 is due at the time of your booking to guarantee the time and you’d like. I will post here as the times fill up to give you an a visual of what times are taken and available.

OCTOBER 9th – PAUL REAMS PARK, PROVO
2:15 – 2:45
3:00 – 3:30
3:45 – 4:15
4::30 – 5:00

OCTOBER 10th – MEMORY GROVE, SLC
2:15 – 2:45
3:00 – 3:30
3:45 – 4:15
4::30 – 5:00

So I think that’s pretty much it! This is truly a GREAT deal, so if you know anyone who might be interested, let them know! If you tell a friend and they book a mini session (mentioning YOU told them), you will get an extra digital file on your disc!!!

If you have ANY questions, let me know! m@melissadavisphotography.com

This beautiful girl is my little sisters best friend and this is her new hubby! You know, I’ve been married for 9 years, so It’s always fun to get to be a part of and see newly weds on their wedding day. So much ahead of them…not always the easiest..this thing we call marriage, but it’s worth it! Congrats Kamie Jo and Reed!
